This ancestral home, from “where you never want to leave”, is located in Póvoa de Lanhoso, a serene small town near Oporto. The holiday home comprises two ancient farm buildings, traditionally furnished.

Classified for its historical, cultural, and architectonic relevance, it is ideal for sharing families or large groups. The atmosphere in the interior is intimate and relaxed with each room sprinkled with a traditional yet modern flavour. The house has five guests’ rooms (three in the main building and two in a restored granary) immensely welcoming and tastefully furnished, two ample living rooms, a games room, a rustic traditional Portuguese kitchen and a large balcony supported by granite pillars.
One may experience the elegant atmosphere of a posh manor house, incorporating a number of old goldsmiths’ workshops that have been turned into a fascinating museum integrated with other amenities. Here you can admire a vast collection of traditional filigree objects, collected by its owner for more than 50 years.
Besides the opportunity to discover how traditional gold filigree was made, you will also be offered the choice between strolling through its surrounding amazing garden, orchards, patios, and waterfalls, or taking a refreshing dip in the private pool boasting lovely views of the quiet rural surroundings. (There is a separate children’s swimming-pool).
Situated on the north bank of the Ave river, this stately home is also close to the Peneda Gerês National Park, allowing you to explore this beautiful region, to meet local people and to admire a wide variety of untouchable flora and fauna. Amenities are at your doorstep and the closest restaurant is only 2km away from the house.
The ancient towns of Póvoa de Lanhoso, Fafe and Guimarães are just about half an hour drive, allowing memorable visits to Roman roads, rocky castles, medieval towers and bridges, Romanesque and Baroque churches and leaving a delicate picture of twisted threads of gold and silver days spent here.
