This splendid property is the result from a lovely recuperation of a small rural house, converted into a charming place, located in the centre of the Corte Gafo de Cima village, in the Alentejo region, a few minutes drive from the historical town of Mértola and situated within the Natural Park of Guadiana Valley.

The genuine and the traditional style of the building was maintained, preserving the architecture and using the most traditional restoration techniques. Indoor, is welcoming and very colorful, combining traditional and modern elements. All rooms are painted in different warm colors: yellow, salmon, blue and green, purple and red ... as it was used in the Alentejo region. With remarkable Moorish influences and a very personal touch, the furnishings are simple and comfortable. Four guests’ bedrooms (one double and three twins), all with en suite private bath, a merry dining and sitting area and a well-equipped kitchen make it the ideal choice for a large family or a group of friends on holiday together. At the back of the house, an attractive fenced private garden with a covered terrace and a pleasant outdoor dining area, offers a shady spot to respire from the heat of the day.
Ecotourism programs and tours, either to be in touch with nature or to discover the enchanting surroundings, walking, cycling, cooking lessons, massages, wine tasting, and canoeing, are some of the reasons that turn this into a vintage place to visit the region and to explore the Guadiana Valley Natural Park.
Amenities are within easy reach, and all basic items can be found in the village’s local shop, with some of the finest wines available in Portugal, and that is just a few minutes walk. A wider variety is on offer in the nearby town of Mértola, presenting wonderful contrasts to explore at your leisure, and that may be reached after a few minutes drive through a tidy countryside, composed by a patchwork of happy vast plains.
