The rustic furnishing and traditional materials and painted mats remind old times, when it was inhabited by a wealthy farmer. This is also evident in the old staircases, walls and entrances made of large natural granite stones. Its original design has been perfectly combined with modern comfort patterns.
Surrounded by pine, oak and chestnut trees which provide generous shadow refugees during the summer days, the house has four appreciable bedrooms (two doubles and two twins) with private en suite bathrooms, a well-appointed traditional kitchen, a hospitable living and dining area.
Besides the beauty of its surrounding environment and the several leisure activities available, this country house has a private outdoor swimming pool surrounded by agreeable lanes and terraces, incomparable well-kept gardens and an excellent games room.
The Vinho Verde, or green wine, produced in this region is something you simply must sample.
There is a small selection of shops and restaurants nearby, though a wider choice may be found in Guimarães, a cultural city, considered the cradle of the Portuguese nation, and which is only at a 15 minutes drive. Alternatively, should you be tempted by a day at the seaside, many kilometres of unspoilt beaches lie also at a short distance from this delightful country hideaway.
